Third Thank You Card

Well I cannot get the darned picture to go where I want it to for some reason so it will just be at the top of the page! This is my third thank you card. My friend Sue gave me Tattered Rose and Shabby Shutters, Tim Holtz Distressed Inks for my birthday. I used the colors on her thank you card.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Vintage Photo and found a blending pen in my stash of stuff. I used it to paint the ink onto the image. I think the blender pen made the Vintage Photo bleed but I like the way it looks. I used some Peeled Paint and Vintage Velvet to add shading to the card. The stamp is Stampin' Up.

I was pretty proud of myself that I made two cards yesterday! See what happens when I get time off!

Another Thank You Card

I made another thank you card for some friends who gave me a $25 gift card for my birthday! I opened the mail a few hours before I was going to Craft Warehouse! I bought the Tim Holtz's Winged Heart die with part of my gift card (I had a 40% off coupon so it was a score!). Plus I bought a few other things including Distress Clear Crackle Paint which I am anxious to use.

The three dots at the bottom and on the heart inside the card are red rhinestones which didn't show their bling when I took their picture.

Thank You!

My extra special friend Denise gave me some Tim Holtz's Distress Inks for my birthday and a the gear Cuttlebug folder I have been wanting! She even let me pick out the ink colors myself!

As usual, she challenged me to make something with my new stuff. I bought the new Tim Holtz die Heart Wings while we were shopping.

I cut out the background heart from the Heart Wings and embossed them with the Cuttlebug gear folder. I embossed the raised gears with clear embossing powder and then swiped the hearts with the Distress ink for embossed resist. I missed some spots but I still like how they turned out!

This card is not my usual style but I really like it! The inside of the card would make a great card on it's own!

I used lots of tools on this card!

Tim Holtz dies
Heart Wings
Elegant Flourishes

Martha Stewart border punch
Stampin' Up Bird punch
Spellbinders Lg. scalloped circles

Bazzil brown paper
Basic Grey Kioshi paper

Distress Inks
Victorian Velvet
Frayed Burlap
Stormy Sky
Peeled Paint

I have been reading multiple blogs with steampunk stuff. It fascinates me because I love gear type things, flowers and butterflies! So this is the result of a million ideas running around in my head! I like how my first attempt at steampunk turned out. I am on to my second attempt and actually hope to get more cards made sooner.

This was fun!

Special Birthday Card

This is a card I made for a very special person for her 60th birthday! I have been working on this card for a while. The flower is made from 30 or so layers of tissue paper sprayed with Viva Pink and Fully Purple Glimmer Mist. The tissue paper was cut with Spellbinders Peony dies in three different sizes. The background paper was embossed with Sizzix embossing folder Vines. The leaves are cut from wool felt and are Spellbinders Small Sunflower set. Of course, the white glitter paper is punched with Martha Stewart's Iron Gate punch! Oops, I forgot the swirls at the bottom are Spellbinders Doodle Parts in wool felt.

The paper is DCWV as usual but you can't see the glitter in the white. I glittered the big white brad in the center of the flower with the same type of glitter. Hope she loves it, she is such a wonderful person!

Dandelions!

I saw this brown and yellow patterned paper in a clearance bin and it spoke to me! Of course, if you know me at all, most paper speaks to me. It tells me I need to buy it and keep it forever. LOL

I had visions of stamping a dandelion on the paper but realized I want to own the stamp I was thinking about but don't have it. So I used my McGill punches to make the dandelions and I like the way it turned out. My husband actually liked it so that says something!

The patterned paper with plain brown reverse is G C D Studios and the yellow is DCWV. Ribbon by American Crafts.
