Birthday Card

Can you tell that I like my Spellbinders Rose Creations!  I made this Birthday card for a co-worker and used colors to match the ribbon.  The flower is made out of the same paper that is on the bottom of the card.  It looks different in the picture.  I used the new DCWV Smooth Stack paper for everything except the leaves.

Graduation Cards

My niece graduated from Stephen F. Austin University this year.  I had fun making her card with the university colors and adding the seal from her envelope on the graduation cap!

I also had fun making this card for the daughter of my bff.  It isn't the school colors, but it is her favorite colors.  I like the way both of these turned out!

Wedding Card

Today was a wedding reception for a friend's daughter.  I have known her since she was about 3 years old. I wanted to make a special card for her in all white.  I started over four or five times with different ideas!  It finally came together and I love it!  Whew!

New Card!

So much for keeping up with my blog!  It has been almost a year since I posted.  I made a card for a friend's birthday.  Of course I did not take a picture of it.  But I made another Bday card with pieces that I did not use and really like it.  I used 5 different Spellbinders to create it!

Spellbinders Grand Calibur

My newest purchase is a Spellbinders Grand Calibur!  I had a hard time making an impression with the Impressabilities until I got this machine!   I use Co'ordinations Chocolate Box paper, ran it through my Grand Calibur with the Flourishes Impressabilities, sanded it and came up the background paper!  I love it!  I also used my new Fancy Tags Two and Stampin' Up Vintage Flowers adornments for the look!

It Is Time for some .....And More!

These are Easter eggs that I learned how to make from my dad who was born in 1917.  People are amazed when I tell them how they are made!  So let me amaze you!  Take white raw eggs, wrap them is onion skins from yellow onions (they are brown), wrap that in fabric and tie securely.  Boil them as you would any other egg.  Peel the fabric and onion skins off and see what happened.  The fun part is you never know what kind of design you will get from the skins and pieces of skins! 

 

I did it!

I have been wanting to use an image from The Graphics Fairy for a card for a very long time! I looked through her images for Easter and found this one. The card turned out how I had imagined it. That is nothing short of a miracle!

I cut the image out with my Spellbinders classic oval large. I used victorian lace ribbon (unknown maker) and the small brown bow with American Crafts velvet rickrack. The blue Stampin' Up paper was embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder. The brown paper is Stampin' Up kraft paper. The kraft paper and the blue paper were distressed with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Baby Shower

Am I the only one who decides to make a card at 9 at night? I kept having to make adjustments so it took me 1 1/2 hours to finish it! I scarfed up some Copic Markers cheap and used them to color the baby's face, hearts, bottle and duckies. Don't ask me which ones I used other than skin white and blush on the baby's face. Oh yeah, carmine red on the hearts. The card is created using a Cuttlebug combo set that is perfect for baby cards.

I paper pieced the sleeper so I had to cut the hands out of other paper and color them in.

This is a Shocker NOT a Birthday Card!!

I have fallen in love with Glubers!! I saw them on blogs from CHA and knew I had to have me some. This card is the 4th flower I made with my Glubers. I am glad I bought three packages of them because rumor is they are in short supply!

Shocker! Another Birthday card!

My friend Denise had a birthday last week. We were going out to lunch but I got sick with the icks that seem to be going around so it has been postponed until this week. I couldn't wait to give her card to her so I did that Sunday. (The spoiled woman got her gift early!) I love how the card came out!

I used Stampin Up Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Tempting Turquoise paper. I used Tempting Turquoise ink and stamped the background, the two other images and "birthday wishes" with the Inkadinkado stamp set Garden Flowers. The border punch is Martha Stewart's deep lattice (I think that is what it is called). The flowers are Primas that I got a very long time ago.

Special Friend Birthday card

This card is for a special friend and "adopted" daughter. She likes hearts and purple. I struggled with the right combo. But I really like how the Spellbinder's Nested Hearts turned out. I used Stampin' Up Concord Crush for the base and Elegant Eggplant ink on the pink DCWV paper. I sprayed the paper doily with Pearl Glimmer Mist.

Surprise! More birthday cards!

Here are another couple birthday cards. The left one was for a teen boy and the right for a 20ish woman! I wanted something fast and these did the trick.

The squares on the boy card are The Guy Stack from DCWV. Both cards have the Hippie Chick Cuttlebug font. The girl card also has some Queen & Co. felt that I have been hoarding and made myself use!

Love This Card!

This is a card I totally loved after I finished it! My friend Denise gave me some distressed inks and the Reindeer Flight Tim Holtz die for Christmas. She always challenges me to use all of the items on a card---and I did! As a bonus, I used a couple of Inkadinkadoo stamps that I have had for two or three years and never used!

Wall Art

Before Thanksgiving and the annual craft fair I was darned busy making cookies and made three pieces of wall art. I like the steampunk one the best. But the one that sold was the "sing and make music to the Lord" wall art!

New Card

Here are two pictures of my latest card. The first shot shows that it is made entirely with glitter card stock the second shot shows the true colors. Not sure how much I really like it but I wanted something very colorful and glitzy!

Birthday cards, as usual!

These are two more guy birthday cards for work that I literally threw together last night! The paper with the deer on is is Kaisercraft Secret Bird Society Collection. I just cut out the part with deer, rounded the corners and put some twine on it!

The second card was a little more work! I had to decide what font I wanted to print out for it! I use the b/w paper that I think came free with an order and a Spellbinders scalloped circle die. The car is a sticker.

I might get something else done today. I don't feel very good but have been doing some random computer clean up and card part cutting.

Birthday cards

I needed a couple more birthday cards for September for work. I wasn't sure what I wanted to make until I read the Cuttlebug Challenge blog and cased this card! Thanks Courtney Lee for the great idea!

I know I am not ready to go back to work. I cleaned up a chunk of my stash and know what I want to get rid of, but have run out of time to take care of it. I have much more cleaning and reorganizing to do. Such an addiction! My husband commented the other day that it never ends when I said I needed some new tool! LOL

Third Thank You Card

Well I cannot get the darned picture to go where I want it to for some reason so it will just be at the top of the page! This is my third thank you card. My friend Sue gave me Tattered Rose and Shabby Shutters, Tim Holtz Distressed Inks for my birthday. I used the colors on her thank you card.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Vintage Photo and found a blending pen in my stash of stuff. I used it to paint the ink onto the image. I think the blender pen made the Vintage Photo bleed but I like the way it looks. I used some Peeled Paint and Vintage Velvet to add shading to the card. The stamp is Stampin' Up.

I was pretty proud of myself that I made two cards yesterday! See what happens when I get time off!

Another Thank You Card

I made another thank you card for some friends who gave me a $25 gift card for my birthday! I opened the mail a few hours before I was going to Craft Warehouse! I bought the Tim Holtz's Winged Heart die with part of my gift card (I had a 40% off coupon so it was a score!). Plus I bought a few other things including Distress Clear Crackle Paint which I am anxious to use.

The three dots at the bottom and on the heart inside the card are red rhinestones which didn't show their bling when I took their picture.
